Flexibility was key in honoring their original wedding date.
With more than six years together, Hannah and Colin were understandably thrilled to be finally tying the knot. Then, the pandemic ended up causing lengthy debates on postponing, canceling, or simply eloping in the mountains. Ultimately, the happy couple decided to make some small changes and move forward with their original date.
Hannah says she felt lucky that their wedding had already been planned for Wisconsin’s beautiful venue, The Farm at Dover. With the ceremony set to be held outdoors and the reception already slated for the open-air barn on the farm, there was no need for a change in venue due to the onset of COVID-19. Still, the couple wanted the event to be safe as possible, and therefore, took many precautions. Providing facemasks and individual hand sanitizers for every guest while utilizing the grounds’ array of paths and gardens, Hannah felt the wedding was perfectly socially distanced.
The couple had to reduce the total number of attendees and reworked the list to include ceremony-only guests, ceremony/cocktail guests, as well as guests attending the event entirely. Hannah said, “With everything going on surrounding the pandemic, you cannot force anyone to feel comfortable,” and acknowledged that flexibility was key in honoring their original wedding date.
They spaced out the tables during the reception as well as limited the capacity at each one, and gave the guests the option of dancing inside or outside of the barn. Their big day was also livestreamed online for friends and family who were not able to make it. Two groomsmen were a couple of the many online viewers and could be seen sporting their ceremony suits at home while joining in the festivities the best they could.
Hannah says it was the details like these that left her with no regrets on the decision to move forward with an intimate wedding and recalls the calmness she felt while standing beneath the chuppah built by Colin and her father-in-law as her most memorable moment.
When asked about her experience at Bella Bleu Bridal, Hannah, had this to say:
“I could not have been happier with my experience at Bella Bleu Bridal. I was obsessed with the designer, Made with Love, and knew that I just had to go to Bella Bleu to find my dress. The associate that helped me try on dresses was so personable and made me feel comfortable throughout the entire process and I did not get the same feeling at any other place. I never felt rushed or pressured and loved being the only one in the store, it felt like a very personalized experience.”
