Michelle and Donald : A meeting of a lifetime in Madison, WI

Description of Wedding: Don and I got married in the city that we met – Madison, WI. Our ceremony was beautiful, right on the lake. It had rained leading up to the ceremony, but we had a window of sunshine to sneak our vows in. Our ceremony was light hearted and a great way to set the tone for the fun that was to follow during the reception. We did an East Coast style wedding, so dancing in between courses, which kept the energy HIGH. The dances, and dinner, and speeches were amazing – and then the dance floor was packed the whole night. We had a saxophonist accompany our DJ which was a vibe. Guests could take a break on the lawn by the lake to get some fresh air in between dances. We ended the night at our favorite bar in Madison – they stayed open extra late for our group 🙂

Description of Wedding: In the summer of 2015, Don and I were both living in Madison, WI and met through a mutual friend. This friend had been trying to set us up for some time, but the timing had never been quite right. Then one day in July, I met this friend on the Capitol Lawn in Madison, Wisconsin for “Concerts on the Square”. Halfway through our bottle of wine, Don sees his friend with me and joined us on our picnic blanket. He was talking about his summer and a music festival he’d been to recently. I thought he was super cool and very handsome. After he left, I asked my friend to give me his number. I texted him that night, and over that week, we made plans for our first date – a 10 hr long day together seeing Dave Matthews Band. It went perfectly, and we’ve been together ever since.
About four years later, Don surprise proposed to me in the same place we had met on the Madison Capitol Lawn. It was the most beautiful day, and the surprise continued with a surprise party at our favorite bar in Madison, with many of our closest friends and families to celebrate for the rest of the night.
